
‘The Equalizer’ Sequel Adds Pedro Pascal

Sony’s The Equalizer sequel has added Narcos actor Pedro Pascal to the cast.
Denzel Washington is returning to star in the follow-up to the 2014 film, which follows a retired black ops government operative who believes he has escaped his past until he meets a young girl under the control of ultra-violent Russian gangsters and can’t help but save her.
Antoine Fuqua, who directed the original, also is returning for the sequel. Richard Wenk wrote the screenplay for the sequel. It’s currently set for release on September 14, 2018.
After opening in theaters on Sept. 26, 2014, The Equalizer, based on the TV show of the same name, earned $192.3 million worldwide.
Pascal plays Javier Peña on the Netflix series Narcos and previously starred as Oberyn Martell on HBO’s Game of Thrones. His film credits include The Great Wall and Matthew Vaughn’s upcoming Kingsman: The Golden Circle with Channing Tatum and Taron Egerton. He will next shoot J.C. Chandor’s Triple Frontier. He’s repped by WME, Untitled Entertainment and Jackoway Tyerman.
