Entertainment Weekly has published an exclusive behind-the-scenes look on J.C. Chandor’s Triple Frontier. Watch the clip below:

It almost sounds too good to be true. Some of Hollywood’s most popular actors — Ben Affleck, Oscar Isaac, Charlie Hunnam, Garrett Hedlund, and Pedro Pascal — are all teaming up for a heist movie.

In Netflix’s Triple Frontier, this who’s who of actors portray a group of former Special Forces operatives who reunite to plan a heist in a sparsely populated multi-border zone of South America. Having previously undertaken dangerous missions for their country, this time they’re doing it for their own gain. But when events take an unexpected turn, things quickly start to spiral out of control, testing their loyalties and their moral code.

Directed by Academy Award nominee J.C. Chandor (A Most Violent Year) and co-written by Chandor and Oscar winner Mark Boal (The Hurt Locker), the film is a gritty, new heist thriller featuring some of Hollywood’s best. The trailer debuted Sunday night during an NFL game, but EW has an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the cast on set.

“We’re really fortunate to have a cast that gelled together so well,” Isaac says in the footage.

Throughout the clip, many of the cast reflect on playing Special Forces operative and the level of commitment and intensity such a role requires. “It really comes down to brotherhood and camaraderie and feeling a sense of place in the world,” says Hunnam.

Meanwhile, Pascal and Hedlund close things out by comparing their antics on set and their male ensemble to being in a boy band. “They all wanted to work with me,” jokes Pascal. “I’ve always wanted to be in a boy band, and this is like being in a boy band.”

Netflix on Sunday released the first trailer for Triple Frontier, starring Ben Affleck.

In the movie, Affleck sets out to rob a violent cartel along with a group of fellow ex-Special Forces operatives played by Oscar Isaac, Charlie Hunnam, Garrett Hedlund and Pedro Pascal.

The former operatives reunite to plan a heist in a sparsely populated multi-border zone of South America. For the first time in their prestigious careers, these heroes are taking on a dangerous mission for their own selves instead of for their country.

“Make no mistake about it. You guys need to own the fact that we do not have the flag on our shoulders. You cannot go back to your normal life after tonight,” Affleck tells the assembled group.

When events take an unexpected turn and threaten to spiral out of control, their skills, their loyalties and their morals are pushed to a breaking point in an epic battle for survival.

J.C. Chandor directed from a story by Mark Boal; Chandor and Boal wrote the script. Triple Frontier will be released on Netflix and selected theaters next March.

VARIETY: Pedro Pascal has been tapped to star in the “Star Wars” TV series “The Mandalorian,” which is expected to premiere on the Disney streaming service, Disney+.

Pascal’s name had previously been rumored for the role, but sources say he was one of many actors being considered. Now, insiders tell Variety that he has been offered the role and negotiations are underway.

Jon Favreau penned the series, which is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. It follows the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.

Disney recently announced that Dave Filoni, who has worked on “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” and “Star Wars Rebels,” will direct the first episode of the series. “Thor: Ragnarok” director Taika Waititi, Bryce Dallas Howard, “Dope’s” Rick Famuyiwa, and Deborah Chow (“Jessica Jones”) will direct additional episodes.

Favreau is also executive producing the show, along with Filoni, Kathleen Kennedy, and Colin Wilson. Karen Gilchrist will serve as co-executive producer.

Disney also announced in an earnings call on Thursday that it would be doing a prequel series on the “Rogue One” character Cassian Andor, played by Diego Luna.

Pascal is no stranger to the small screen, with star-making roles as Prince Oberyn in “Game of Thrones” and Javier Pena in “Narcos.” He has since been building a strong film resume with performances in “Kingsman: The Golden Circle,” “The Equalizer 2,” and the upcoming “If Beale Street Could Talk.” He recently finished filming the Netflix action pic “Triple Frontier” as well as “Wonder Woman 1984.”

He is repped by WME and Untitled Entertainment.

You don’t have to be a Shakespeare fan to know some big news hit the theater world on Wednesday. A top-notch cast has been assembled for Broadway’s upcoming production of the Bard’s legendary King Lear, which will star Tony- and Oscar-winner Glenda Jackson in the titular role.

The ensemble features an impressive mix of Broadway returnees and newcomers. In the former camp, New York stage veterans John Douglas Thompson (Jitney),  Elizabeth Marvel (Picnic), and Jayne Houdyshell (The Humans) have joined the company in major roles alongside The Affair star Ruth Wilson, who returns to the stage after her Tony-nominated Constellations performance from 2015. And in the latter camp, Narcos star Pedro Pascal is set to make his Broadway debut, as is Aisling O’Sullivan. They follow in the casting of Jackson in the production, who previously played the role at the Old Vic in London, in 2016, to award-winning effect. Jackson also won this year’s Tony Award for Best Actress in a Play, for her turn in the Three Tall Women revival.

Tony winner Sam Gold (Fun Home) is helming this King Lear, which will begin previews on Feb. 28, 2019 before its official opening night on April 4, and run through to July 7. It’s also been announced that composer Philip Glass will be providing an original score for the production.
